About the Series

It's October and that means it was time for spooky romance reading.  I decided to kick off my October with the Wicks Hollow series by Colleen Gleason.  So far this series has 4 books, with a 5th expected for December of 2018.

The series is set in the fictional town of Wicks Hollow on Lake Michigan.  For those of you who'd like some geography it's on the western side of the state, about an hour from Grand Rapids.  In each of the stories there is a mystery, usually involving murder, and some supernatural happenings.  The Town is known for being a bit of a hot spot for ghostly activities.

Each book has a main couple who most of the story is about, but all of the books share characters.  Most prevalent are the Tuesday Ladies: Maxine, Juanita (with her Papillion Bruce Banner), Orbra, Iva, and Cherry.  The Tuesday Ladies are a group of older, mostly retired women who sort of run the town. You also meet Olga Van Hest, Orbra's niece, Joe Cap (local police chief), Baxter James (local brewer and reporter), and Trib (owner of the local hotspot eatery).  In the later books you will see some of the couples reappear from previous books. The ghosts in every book help our protagonists in an hour of need and find their own peace.

Each story is fun and cute.  You find yourself wrapped up in the mystery and rooting for the romance.  You also find yourselves rooting for the ghosts.  My favorite Ghost by far is from the first book: Sinister Summer.  Jean was one of the Tuesday Ladies until she was murdered.  She then haunts her own home trying to get her niece, Diana, to figure out her murder, as well as hinting that maybe Diana needs to get her love life together.

Overall I enjoyed and would recommend this series.  Below you can find links to purchase the books from Amazon.  They are currently available in Kindle Unlimited through the end of October.

Colleen Gleason is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling and award-winning author who can’t seem to decide what type of book to write…so she writes a lot of different genres!

So far, Colleen has written everything from vampire hunters to dystopian romance, to steampunkhistorical romance, and mysteries with a supernatural flair. One element, however, that appears in all of her stories, is that of partnership…whether it be professional, romantic, or both.

All of Colleen’s books feature strong heroines experiencing fast-paced adventures, danger, mystery, and of course, romance. But at the core of each story is the belief that every woman deserves a partner who accepts her for her strengths as well as her weaknesses—and vice versa.

Colleen lives in the midwest United States with her family and two dogs, and is always working on her next book
