This is the story of Paxton/Torch and Cleo. Torch is something else. I am not sure I really understand what his issues are, which I suppose makes sense considering no one else does either. I do like Paxton and Cleo once he stops being an ass, but all in all I enjoyed their story. Theirs isn't my favorite, but I did enjoy it. Part of me wants to shake them, but the back and forth drama wasn't as bad as I expected. Torch needs to get his head out of his ass still, and he is incredibly lucky that Cleo accepts that part of him.

Torch redeemed his self with me by building a relationship with Cleo's gay friends. Understanding how important they are to her, and not getting macho stupid with them was a big plus to me.

Rough and Shaken

Secondary short story, at end of book telling the happily ever after of Snake and Ginger. We meet Ginger when Cleo is kidnapped by the Aryans. Ginger has been captive for a while, and she is Snake's old lady. Since her and Snake were on the outs he thought she ran, but really she was kidnapped. He didn't know he needed to look for her. Seeing their happily ever after and how Ginger is coping with what happened to her was nice to see. It was a short fluff story, and the reality is it would be a lot harder and darker in real life. That said I was happy with the outcome.

author about

I was born and raised in a small farming town in California. I met my husband when I was 16 and he was 19. We married four years later and have two little boys! We lived in Oregon for a few years while he served in the US Coast Guard.

Texas is now where we call home, where our boots rest, and where we’re raising our two little boys and a chocolate lab named Optimus Prime.
